Work begins on "Journey to the Sun" Below is a set of pictures. Staring with sanding down one edge for fitting, while the other pics show me drawing out my rough guide for the art flow, and signing the work, (I have to do this first as the tittle and signature will be embedded in paint) on the working surface, while the reverse is where the art will be viewed from. You'll understand better by just following the progress of the work.
Botanicals.....
just working on the first pressing of my "botanicals" for my new art pieces. These have had their first pressing and are now airing out for a day before they get a 2nd press.
starting work on my newest tables!
My newest tables will be made up of two large slabs of Alder with "live" edges on the outer lengths, and running through the middle length will be an 8.5" wide plexiglas inlay of art. The plan is to have an ebonized trestle style leg configuration in oak. Here, my joiner Barry Chattel is doing up some measurements for the trestle positions.
and here is "Coming Home" without....
without back light - a completely different work - that's the beauty of plexiglass art - 2 pieces of art for the price of one.
